  3. The PsL News files on past CDs have been exact duplicates of the text and
  4. arrangement of the printed PsL News.
  5.  
  6. Starting this month, we have decided to use a different arrangement for the
  7. CD that makes more sense (we hope) for this medium.
  8.  
  9. The difference is that in our disk-based library and thus in PsL News, we
  10. have always grouped new small programs onto disks which we call "Monthly
  11. Additions Disks".
  12.  
  13. The Monthly Additions Disks often contain programs of many different types,
  14. so if you were interested in a financial programs for the office, for example,
  15. you would have to look in two different places - the write-ups of the new
  16. large program disks in the "Business - Financial" section and in the "Monthly
  17. Additions Disks" sections for small programs.
  18.  
  19. Starting with this month's CD, all programs, large and small, are written up
  20. together by category.
  21.  
  22. Also, in PsL News, we segregate what we call "Quick Looks", which are
  23. available only on CD or by special order, from the new programs being added
  24. to PsL's permanent catalog for reasons which normally have nothing to do with
  25. the quality of the programs.

  27. Starting with this month's CD, Quick Looks and programs being added to PsL's
  28. catalog will all be written up together by category.
  29.  
  30. Updated programs will continue to be written up apart from new programs.
  31. Each updated program write-up will have a PsL category code at the start of
  32. the write-up to make it possible to look back at the original write-up in the
  33. Reviews file (in \REVIEWS on the CD) by pressing the W key.

  35. Lastly, we have decided to leave out the PsL disk numbers from the CD version
  36. of PsL News for those programs that are on the CD. We will continue to show
  37. numbers when reference is made to programs NOT on the CD.

  39. Your feedback on theses changes and suggestions for ways to improve the PsL
  40. Monthly CD are welcome.
